The Path to Eternal Joy and the Path to Eternal Service are the Same - Digital - 2026

I initially had this idea in the early 2,000's without a title for it. I have been reviewing some of my old ideas through a Christian lens lately, so when I thought about a potential title for this one, I wanted it to be in line with the teachings of the Bible.

God is eternal, and generous. Jesus demonstrated, as God on Earth, that God's purpose is to serve others. God's intention for man and for the creation of Earth was a paradise where humans could thrive, and have joy in relationship with God. God's intention for man is to have joy and God's purpose is to serve. I made a connection between the idea of having joy and serving through reading the Bible and, since God is eternally joyful and serves, it made sense to me that the paths to eternal joy and eternal service would look like the same result.

In a human experience, serving others is like lowering yourself, so the star on the left is the star of service, which requires going lower. The star on the right is joy, and is higher because joy is usually considered a desirable state and somewhat of an achievement or attainment. The stars are identical to illustrate that either path has the same result. That is to say, that if you choose the path of serving others the result will be joy, and if you choose the path of joy the result will be serving others.
